Interior Designer in Yorkshire, creating elegant, effortless interiors, for full houses and individual spaces.
A personal approach shaped by over 20 years of experience and a loyal, returning client base. Based in North Ferriby, working across Yorkshire, the UK and internationally.
THE APPROACH
Every project begins with understanding how a client wants their home to feel and function, building a design that works around them and their space.
Philippa works with a selection of leading European and British brands, many of which are not widely available. This gives clients access to distinctive pieces, new collections and materials that you won’t typically find elsewhere.
By staying closely connected to suppliers and regularly visiting them, she is able to introduce fresh ideas, new designs and carefully sourced elements that elevate each space.
The result is a home that feels personal, well put together and genuinely different.

Our Services
At Philippa Lance Interior Design, each project is bespoke — from the initial conversation through to final styling. The approach is tailored to suit the home, its architecture, and each client’s unique lifestyle, ensuring every space is both beautiful and highly functional.
-
Every project begins with an hour-long home consultation to understand the client’s vision, the property’s character, and how the space is used. This stage involves taking a detailed brief and discussing ideas, priorities, and budget. Following this meeting, a written proposal is prepared for consideration.
Each design proposal is tailored to the individual project — there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Proposals outline the scope of work, predicted design time, and any associated fees, ensuring clarity before the design process begins.
If a client is located further afield or based abroad, remote consultations can be arranged where appropriate. -
Once the proposal has been agreed, the concept design stage begins. This is where your project starts to take visual form. Philippa develops initial ideas through mood boards, product selections, sketches, and visual presentations — defining the tone, palette, and direction of the design. A follow-up meeting allows both designer and client to review and refine these ideas, ensuring alignment before moving forward. CGI visualisations can be produced upon request at an additional cost, offering clients a detailed preview of the proposed design.
-
Once the concept has been approved, the project moves into the design development stage — where ideas are translated into detailed plans and specifications. Philippa refines the design, finalises selections, and prepares comprehensive documentation for implementation. At this stage, orders are placed and procurement begins. Every element — from furniture and fabrics to finishes and fittings — is carefully managed to ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality. Project timelines are established, and communication remains open and transparent as the process moves smoothly toward installation.
-
With all elements prepared and deliveries coordinated, this stage brings the design to life. Philippa oversees the installation process, liaising with trusted trades and suppliers to ensure every detail is executed with care and precision. From furniture placement to final styling, this phase transforms the design from concept to reality — a finished interior that reflects the original vision and feels effortlessly complete.
Philippa Lance creates interiors that feel elegant, relaxed and easy to live in.
